Snowy Saturday Morning

We all had a fun morning out in the snow on Saturday. Everyone shoveled and it took no time at all. The dogs had a blast and the neighbor's dogs even visited.

Colin LOVED Paul throwing snowballs at him

Audrey had so much fun outside. She started crying when I took her in

President's Weekend:Skiing

We did a lot of skiing over the weekend while everyone was in town. Paul and Jen took Tyler on Friday right after they got into town. Then Jen and Jim took him again on Sunday so he got two days in. Paul said that he did great and was picking it up as well as you could have hoped him to at his age.

Jason, Paul and I went skiing at Snowbird on Sunday

Paul and Jim took Colin skiing on Monday at Alta. He did well. They didn't go up the chair lift, just used the rope tow. He had a lot of fun "racing" grandpa.

It was so busy at the resorts over the weekend. I have never seen so much traffic up there. It was a holiday weekend and we had a TON of snow so everyone was there.

President's Weekend: Playing

It was so much fun to see the kids playing together over the weekend. Colin and Tyler are really playing well together and everyone had a lot of fun playing with Grandpa.

President's Weekend:Sledding

Paul's dad, Jen, Jason, Tyler and Natalie came for a visit this weekend. We had a great time. The kids had so much fun. We went out sledding, it was some of the first snow that Tyler and Natalie have seen. Uncle Billy went with us too. We drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was raining down in the valley but snowing pretty hard in the mountains. It was so pretty but also pretty cold.

On our way to the hill.

Tyler did really well sledding on his own and had a lot of fun.

Grandpa taking pictures

It was a lot of work pulling the kids back up the hill. We got a good workout.

As we were leaving.

Valentine's Day

We had a nice Valentine's. Colin really enjoyed the holiday this year. We made some cutout cookies.

Colin was so excited when he came home with all of his cards from his friends at daycare. He also got cards from all his grandparents. He has carried them around and played with them all week. He had to set them all out to display.

Then he displayed all of Audrey's

We got him a Goofy stuffed animal because he has been loving Mickey Mouse/Goofy lately. "I love Goofy" he said as he gave it a big hug.

I messed up at dinner on Valentine's. I left Audrey's hummus too close to her and she got a hold of it and made quite the mess.

Audrey is 10 months old!

(I couldn't pick just one)

This is her smile she gives us all the time now, I love it. (she got her top two teeth this month)

I decided to add one of her standing since she did so much of that this month

It sure has been a busy month for Audrey. We went to NY for a long weekend. She has been sick way too much. And, she has been working on a ton of milestones.

Audrey is still wearing size 3 diapers but sometimes 4 at night because she's been wetting through now. She is definitely out of all her 6 month clothes. She fits in the 6-12, 12 month and a few 9 month things.

She goes to bed at 730 and gets up at 640 for daycare but usually sleeps in on the weekends. We're working on bedtime being a little earlier during the week. If she always sleeps in on the weekend then I'm thinking she wants more sleep on the weeknights. She takes a morning nap around 930ish and an afternoon nap around 1. She is mostly sleeping all night but sometimes still gets up. It's hard to know for sure because of her sicknesses lately.

She drinks formula, 6oz every 3-4 hrs during the day. She has started eating more and more solid food and really likes it. Peas, pasta, and cooked carrots are some of her new finger foods. She has been liking drinking from a sippy cup lately. She's not great at it but she gets this huge smile when she gets some water, which then usually makes all the water fall down the front of her.

She has been really sick this month. She had a bad cold in the beginning of the month but then an even worse one this past week. This week she had a fever from Saturday until Wednesday. She was super stuffy and had an awful cough. She was so sick. She couldn't eat very much and often threw it back up from coughing so hard. On Wed her fever finally went away but it took all weekend for her to get an appetite back, stop throwing up, and feel more like herself. I can't wait for spring and no more sicknesses.

Audrey has been really busy working on her milestones this month. She started crawling. She pulls up to standing at furniture and can sit back down. She cruises along the furniture and will walk all over that way. She was also able to go up the stairs today. She has started waving, clapping, and giving high fives. She says "mama" often and will repeat it if you tell her to say it. However, she doesn't use it appropriately yet. She loves "uhoh" when she drops things(on purpose) but when she says it it usually sounds much more like "uhuh". She's interacting so much.

Tip Toe and Sharing

Tip Toe

Colin must have learned what this is at daycare. He has started whispering "tiptoe tiptoe" and tiptoeing around the house. He did this the other day when we were home sick with Audrey. She was taking a nap. He goes (in a whisper) "tiptoe tiptoe..." while tiptoeing as he walked by her door. It was so cute how he was trying so hard to be quiet while she was napping.

He then went into the bathroom and SLAMMED the door shut. About 30 seconds later....she started screaming. At least he tried.

Sharing

Colin is working on learning what this word means. Sometimes he gets it, sometimes he doesn't. Right now if he says "Mom, my share with baby Audrey" it means that she has something that looks fun and he's going to go over and take it from her. He's working on understanding the word but it usually only counts when it benefits him.

An update on Colin

I figured I'd add a little update of Colin too. He is just about 29 months now. I can't believe how old he is. He is finally growing some too. He's 29, almost 30lbs now. And he is so smart. It is so much fun to see him learning new things and exploring the world.

He can say his ABCs and count to 13. He can recognize most of the numbers 0-9 and probably 15-18 letters. He loves learning about letters and numbers. Anywhere he sees letters he needs to talk about them. Like pointing to every letter on a keyboard or on your shirt.

He's getting pretty familiar with time-outs now. He has 3 major "offenses" that he gets time-out for. He sometimes hits when he gets really mad or frustrated and gets time-out for that. He also gets it if he doesn't listen to what I tell him. Like if I tell him not to throw a toy and then he picks it up and throws it further and then throws 3 more. He will get really mad if Audrey has something that he decides he wants. When I tell him not to take it from her he will grab the toy and throw it across the room. That is the one that gets him time-out most often.

He is very loving and tells us he loves the "baby doll" or loves mommy "this much" and then opens his arms up wide.

He's doing great with his potty training and no longer has accidents during the day. He is still wearing pull ups at night but we haven't addressed that further yet.

He really likes to help with this around the house. He's great at "clean up". He helps me wash Audrey's bottles. I'll wash them all and he'll pull up his stool and rinse everything for me.
