Tip Toe and Sharing

Tip Toe

Colin must have learned what this is at daycare. He has started whispering "tiptoe tiptoe" and tiptoeing around the house. He did this the other day when we were home sick with Audrey. She was taking a nap. He goes (in a whisper) "tiptoe tiptoe..." while tiptoeing as he walked by her door. It was so cute how he was trying so hard to be quiet while she was napping.

He then went into the bathroom and SLAMMED the door shut. About 30 seconds later....she started screaming. At least he tried.

Sharing

Colin is working on learning what this word means. Sometimes he gets it, sometimes he doesn't. Right now if he says "Mom, my share with baby Audrey" it means that she has something that looks fun and he's going to go over and take it from her. He's working on understanding the word but it usually only counts when it benefits him.

An update on Colin

I figured I'd add a little update of Colin too. He is just about 29 months now. I can't believe how old he is. He is finally growing some too. He's 29, almost 30lbs now. And he is so smart. It is so much fun to see him learning new things and exploring the world.

He can say his ABCs and count to 13. He can recognize most of the numbers 0-9 and probably 15-18 letters. He loves learning about letters and numbers. Anywhere he sees letters he needs to talk about them. Like pointing to every letter on a keyboard or on your shirt.

He's getting pretty familiar with time-outs now. He has 3 major "offenses" that he gets time-out for. He sometimes hits when he gets really mad or frustrated and gets time-out for that. He also gets it if he doesn't listen to what I tell him. Like if I tell him not to throw a toy and then he picks it up and throws it further and then throws 3 more. He will get really mad if Audrey has something that he decides he wants. When I tell him not to take it from her he will grab the toy and throw it across the room. That is the one that gets him time-out most often.

He is very loving and tells us he loves the "baby doll" or loves mommy "this much" and then opens his arms up wide.

He's doing great with his potty training and no longer has accidents during the day. He is still wearing pull ups at night but we haven't addressed that further yet.

He really likes to help with this around the house. He's great at "clean up". He helps me wash Audrey's bottles. I'll wash them all and he'll pull up his stool and rinse everything for me.
