What they're saying now

Colin is always saying things that he sounds so cute or so smart. I wish I could remember to write it down more. The other day, after riding his bike, he said: "If I get better on my bike I can go for a bike ride with Mommy and Daddy and Audrey can stay home with Papa." I guess he realizes that the only time we leave him home is to go biking. Audrey has been saying some new things lately too. She has started putting words together. She will say "papa up" or "I want papa" or "I want more". She has also said "more please" and "milk please". However, her favorite word right now is definitely "NO" Audrey learned to say yes first. She is so cute when she says yes. She gets so animated and excited and yells "YESH". Lately she has pretty much given up the yes. It is all "NO". She'll be screaming for something that you know she wants. You ask her "do you want that?" "NOOOO!!!!" Even though it is exactly what she wants. We never went through the "no" stage with Colin. I heard about how other peoples' kids were saying "no" to everything and I didn't know what they were talking about. I definitely know now.

Deer Crest Trail and the Zoo

We had another busy weekend. However, we did have some fun and were fairly productive. On Saturday morning, Mary came over to babysit and Paul and I went mountain biking in American Fork Canyon. We didn't realize it was "free national parks" day. It was so crowded up there. We couldn't even find parking at our trailhead and had to start somewhere else. It worked out okay though. It was such a beautiful ride. I love that canyon
The fall colors were starting to come out
On Sunday after church we took the kids to the zoo
They loved the carousel....again Actually, I guess from this video it looks like Audrey wasn't so sure for the first minute or so but she did end up really enjoying it.

Watson

When we were in New York, Adam and Stephanie gave Colin this Watson stuffed animal. It is so cute! It came from Hallmark. Watson has books that goes along with him and when you read the books with him, he reads along. I saw these pajamas at Old Navy and just had to have them to match Watson. They seem to go perfectly.
You can tell in the picture how much Colin loves Watson....however, there is a funny story. Colin has been wanting to read books with Watson almost every night since we got home. He loves reading with him. When you turn Watson off, he says "good bye". I always make sure to turn him off each night so we hear him say bye. One night Paul was reading with Colin and he forgot to turn him off. Five minutes later Colin comes running out of his room screaming, sounding very terrified. I go to ask him what is wrong and (between tears) he says "Watson just said good bye". So...must be Watson has an automatic turn off after 5 minutes and he will say good bye. It took some coaxing to get Colin back into bed after that. He definitely still loves Watson(the picture above was taken way after this incident) but he doesn't want him to sleep in his room anymore.

Happy 3rd Birthday Colin

Last Saturday, the 17th, was Colin's 3rd birthday. All week he knew that his birthday was coming and he was going to be 3. However, it took him a couple of days to get it that he was 3 now. When you asked him before his birthday how old he was he would say "I'm 2, almost 3." Then on his birthday, and for a few days after, he would say the same thing. I couldn't get him to understand that he was actually 3. He does now though. We asked him what he wanted for his birthday and all he would say was that he wanted a Cars cake. He never mentioned any presents, just the cake. So we of course made him one.
I also made him a Cars birthday shirt
We decorated in a Cars theme
Eliana(and Tara and Ben) came over to celebrate with us
Colin opened presents
And Audrey helped
We sang Happy Birthday, blew out candles, and had cake The next day we all headed to the park to have a picnic and play with some new toys.
Colin had his 3 year dr's appointment this week. He is 29 1/2 lbs and 35 1/2 inches tall. He is still small for his age, about the 15th percentile for everything. He had a hearing and vision test and passed both.

The Dirty Dash

Last week I ran in the Dirty Dash with my coworker Rockkeem. There were a bunch of us that were supposed to do it but everyone backed out except for us. It is a 10K race that is muddy and has obstacles. It was SOO much fun. Still clean before the race
The start of the race
The slip n slide
Running into the finish line
Mud pit before the finish line
The big finish. I think we look a little tired
They had a bouncy house play area for the kids

On Sunday night all the Currys came over for a party. It was so nice to see everyone and be able to visit.
We were also able to go out to dinner with Brad and Kelli. It was so great to see them and see pictures of their new house. I don't have pics from our visit though. :O( I can't wait to see their finished house next time we're in Buffalo.
