Audrey's first dance recital

Audrey has been taking dance classes at daycare.  Today was her first dance recital.  I was so excited to see her but didn't know if she'd actually get out there and do it.  I was afraid she'd have a bad case of stage fright.  She definitely had a little of that but she still did so good.  We were so proud of her.  I was in tears seeing my little girl out there. She's growing up so fast!

They had the girls wear their halloween costumes for the recital.  Audrey is wearing part of hers, she's going to be Audrey Hepburn.

After the show, Colin(and daddy) bought Audrey some flowers to tell her good job and how proud we were of her.

Fall Weekend

Last weekend we had a fun fall weekend.  The kids are very excited about Halloween coming up and keep wanting to do "festive" things.  We bought some pumpkin spider kits from Target and decided to pick the pumpkins from the garden to use to make the spiders.   The kids were very excited.

So proud of their work

That evening we headed up to the outlets for some shopping since we had some coupons.  They have a playground and some quarter rides that helped keep the kids busy so we could shop some.

On Sunday we headed up to Snowbird because it was the weekend you could ride the tram for just a can of food. It was beautiful weather.

It had just snowed the night before but most of it had melted.  So, one side was covered with snow....

.....and the other was perfectly fall

They had some kids' activities on the plaza deck.  Audrey decided to do the bouncy slide and Colin opted for the trampoline bungee.

Little Cottonwood Creek

We decided last Sunday to take the kids for a quick hike up Little Cottonwood.  We love that we live so close to the canyons and can just pick up and head out for a quick hike and in just a few minutes we're in the middle of the woods.  Not to forget to mention how beautiful it is.  We have spent SOO much time in Little Cottonwood this summer between biking, hiking with the kids, and Oktoberfest. We decided it was definitely a record amount of time for us in the canyon for summer.

We packed a little picnic

Colin badly wanted to go somewhere that we could "walk over the water". It is harder to find somewhere like that when it is cold and you're in sneakers so you can't get wet at all.  We were able to find a spot though and the kids loved it.  This is not something we'll be attempting in May.

Home Depot Project October

I don't think this was the best week to have the project outside(it was pretty cold) but I understand that they needed to(the fire truck wouldn't fit inside).

It's fire safety month so the kids made fire trucks and got to tour the truck and meet the fire fighters.

It was a busy Saturday.  I took Audrey to a birthday party for a friend of hers at daycare.

While we were at the party, Paul and Colin went up to Oktoberfest to meet Billy and Courtney for his birthday.

Then we got a babysitter and went out with them that night.

Bryce Canyon with Mimi

While my mom was in town, we all headed down to Bryce Canyon for the night.  Paul and I wanted to do a couple of bike rides there and we decided to make it a whole family trip to the park for some hiking too.

Here's our pictures from the park.  They're a mix of a couple of different days and a couple different cameras.

I didn't love the Ergo carrier when Audrey was a baby but I definitely love it now.  I can carry Colin in it so easily.

I love this shot

Colin loved hiking up the switchbacks

The hike we did was a combination of a couple of different hikes. We started at sunrise point and ended at sunset point.  The hike(on the park's guide) is considered the "best 3 mile hike in the world".  It was really pretty.

The main reason we chose this trip was to do a mountain bike ride called Thunder Mountain.  We headed out to do the ride right when we got it.  We parked in the lot at the end of the ride and then road 8 miles up the road to the beginning of the trail. This was the first problem, it would be SOO much better if you were able to shuttle it.  The trail was absolutely beautiful but parts of it were just so difficult; loose gravel, stone, and steep.

A couple videos of our ride

We were pretty worn out after the ride. We were able to get another ride in across the street the next morning before our hike.  This one was really nice.  It didn't quite have the stunning views but was still really pretty, and the terrain was a little friendlier.  We'd like to get back to that area sometime.
