We're a Family of FOUR SKIERS!

We've got another skier in the family!!!

Audrey went skiing for the FIRST time today. She did awesome!

She loved it and wanted to keep going.  She was so upset when it was time to leave.
Colin went up the chair twice today and pretty much picked up where he left off last year.

A Change of Weather

Last weekend it was 70 and sunny.  We ate lunch in t-shirts on the deck.  It was 70s and sunny all week. It was a beautiful week for being November.  We were feeling spoiled.

Friday, it started to snow.  Saturday, we woke up to this.

The same table they were eating at, 6 days later.

The deck is under there somewhere

It looked like this all day Friday, Saturday, and into Sunday

 ...and more of this

We spent a lot of the weekend inside; playing, cleaning, doing house projects.  We did make it out to play in the snow though. And, I shoveled the whole sidewalk and driveway myself....all 2 1/2 feet of snow.

The Power of Candy

This was the Halloween candy that the kids got while trick or treating.

They got to play with it for a couple of days.  Sort, count, organize.  They got to eat a few pieces. Then, they picked out 5 of their favorites and traded in the rest of it for a toy.  They were very happy with this decision.  Colin said "I love my candy but I love my toy even more."

Fast forward a few days.  Colin is quiet in the corner behind the couch.  I ask him what he is doing and he says "nothing" in a suspicious voice.  I ask him again and he says "Nothing....but I was hungry."
I ask him to show me what he had eaten.  He says he can't so I tell him to show me the wrapper.  He says "I can't, it's way under the couch."
I move the couch and find a stash of candy wrappers.  He had snuck all the candy, ate it, lied about it, and hid the evidence.  I didn't know a 4 year old could have it in them to do that.
I am so afraid of 10 years from now.

Halloween 2012

Paul took the kids to the grocery store and bought huge pumpkins a couple of weeks ago.  We finally got around to carving them the night before halloween.  The pumkins were too big and our designs too difficult.  The kids had fun and they turned out okay but next year I say we stick to little pumpkins and just smiley face designs.

We got up early on halloween to get ready for daycare.
Colin picked out his Spiderman costume at Costco a couple of months ago.  I had a hard time deciding on Audrey's costume since she's not quite at the age where she can pick it herself but yet she's stubborn and would refuse to wear something if I couldn't convince her she wanted to.  She really likes princesses and dresses she can twirl in. I thought we were going to do a princess but then I saw this Audrey Hepburn idea online.  I found someone to make me the dress on Etsy and she looked adorable.  I loved it.

Yes, she is eating her waffle but it's the best picture I have of her whole dress

We did 80s theme at work

I picked the kids up from daycare at 130 and took them to Paul's work for their trick or treating.
It was beautiful, sunny and a high of 76!

Costume parade at Paul's work

This is the only picture I have of him with his mask down.  He kept it up most the day.

Silly string "web shooter"

Trick or treating in the neighborhood.  I really like our neighborhood on halloween.  There are tons of little kids and everyone is out.  We get to see a bunch of friends and it just feels like a big party on the street.

Did I  mention it was 76?!  I had tights and a sweater for her but she didn't even need them.  When we were finished trick or treating and on our way home she started being cold and we put her sweater on.

Love them! They had so much fun.  They got a ton of candy and then we traded it all in for a toy.  I asked Colin if he thought that was a good idea and he said "I liked my candy but I love my toy more than my candy"

Slickrock and Dinosaur Bones

Us on our fun downhill bike ride that Matt took us on.  It was a lot of work setting up the shuttles but the ride was fun.  I was really sore from it too.

We did a little hike where you could see dinosaur bones in the rock.  It was interesting, pretty abstract.  They had little signs telling you exactly what bone it was from what dinosaur but I have no clue how they come up with that.

Another Fun Fall Weekend

We've had a lot of fun weekends this fall.  A couple of weeks ago we went over to Tara's to pick apples.

The kids love playing with Declan. Audrey is dancing and making faces at him trying to make him laugh.

We went back to Cornbelly's. We had beautiful weather and the kids had a great time...again.

Icees!

Driving a fire truck

We ended up doing some face painting this time.  The kids really liked it.

Washing the paint off.  He looks like he just got beat up!
