Father's Day in the Uintas

On Father's Day, it was 100 degrees....again.  So we decided to take the kids and dogs and head up to the Uintas for a picnic with Tara and Ben.  This lake is one of my favorite things about living here.  We are able to drive just over an hour out of the city and hike a little ways and be at this lake.  It was 75 degrees out, instead of 100, and we almost had the whole place to ourselves.

Audrey and Eliana.  They kind of fought over this purple chair the whole day

Teresa came too

Colin LOVED climbing through the creek over these rocks.  He did it over and over.  He was so proud to be able to cross without getting wet.  He kept mapping out new routes through the rocks.

Simba and Nala had fun too

So pretty!

Did I mention how pretty it is and how much I love it here?

So cute!

Thanksgiving Point

A couple of Saturdays ago we took the kids down to Thanksgiving Point to the Dinosaur museum. It was fun.  They have a lot of interactive things for the kids to do and we hadn't been there since Colin was about Audrey's age.

The kids designed their own dino

They love the water/sand table

Digging for fossils

Audrey loved this part. She took her shoes off to play in the sand and DID NOT want to leave

It was obviously a little bright but I like this picture because of all the bright clothes.

We ate dinner down there

And then ordered ice cream.  I didn't realize a $2 cone was going to be SO big!

The kids' cones were free and they loved them

Splash Pad

Last week, after church, we took the kids to a new park by us that has this great splash pad.  They had a lot of fun.  It was 100 degrees so it was a great way to cool off.

Colin was pretty timid about getting splashed with the water.

 Audrey....not so much!

Summer Fun

Even though we don't get summers off from work/school, we still try to make the most of them and do lots of fun things with the kids.
Fun in the backyard

Colin got this slide when he was about 1.  It has gotten so much use.  They still play on it all the time and it's great for the pool.

Fun at the park

Audrey wanted to climb up this pole so Paul helped.

Colin is getting a lot better on his balance bike. We have a hard time remembering his helmet when we take it to the park but he definitely needs it on this.  It's definitely not like a tricycle.

Photo Ops!

The dogs didn't do as well

Paul wanted Colin to pose on his bike with the mountains

The kids are at an age when they are having so much fun playing with each other.  They keep each other company at home when we're cleaning or doing yard work.  They love to play together at the park.  They went down the slide together like this a million times this day.

Paul had to go to Moab for work and brought the kids back some souvenirs. Colin had this bone guy  that he had to dig out of the rock and put together.

Audrey got this egg that hatched a rubber snake after a couple days
