Big Girl Bed

When Colin was 2 1/2 we switched him from his crib to a toddler bed(his crib with a different side rail).  He did really well making the switch at that age.  However, now he tends to get out of bed a couple of times before going to sleep and gets up earlier than I'd like.

Paul thought we needed to make the switch with Audrey the same time we did with Colin.  I wasn't convinced. I didn't want another child fighting bedtime.  Audrey also will lay in her crib in the morning and put herself back to sleep.  I didn't want to lose that.  Paul won on this decision though and we decided to switch her.  He took Colin's old bed rail(which was black) and painted it white for her bed, and converted her crib.

So far she's done really well in the bed.  She's still in the stage where she doesn't really realize she can get out by herself.  She doesn't get up before falling asleep and she still calls for us to get her up in the morning.  We'll see how long it lasts but so far so good.
