Colin 21 Months

This month has been "word explosion" month for Colin. He has started talking so much more. He repeats everything he hears and has so many new words. He puts two words together all the time and has done multiple words also. He has said things like "Mimi where are you?" and "Mommy I love you". Granted, they don't quite sound like that and only we would be able to decipher and understand what he is saying but he says it.

He has recently learned about seatbelts. While we were in the car he said "mommy, daddy, seatbelt on". He always asks for his seatbelt when he gets in his highchair or in his car for walks.

Colin has been doing really well playing on is own. Everyone has been commenting on how well he does with it. His favorite toys right now are definitely his trucks. He is always playing with trucks.

He has been increasing the number of things he wants to go to bed with. He takes his two dogs and two elmos. If he only has one elmo he will ask for "more elmo?!"

He is doing better with his colors. He knows blue, black, yellow, red, purple, and green but he doesn't always get them right.

He is liking to watch elmo on tv a little too much. He watches it in the morning when he first gets up. He really likes a consistent routine in the morning. By watching elmo it allows me to tend to Audrey if I need to at that time. However, other times through the day he will ask for "elmo T?" but we only let him watch it once a day. It came in handy while flying though. We took the computer with some elmo videos and they entertained him for some of the flights.

He still likes to sit on the potty once in awhile but he hasn't gone on it. He is now knowing the difference between poop and pee. So after he pees he will say "poop...no, pee".

He loves to be outside. He is really good about wearing his hat and putting on sunscreen. He is getting better about wearing his sunglasses. He looks so cute in them!

He is still eating pretty good. Sometimes he'll eat anything in front of him and sometimes he's not too interested but overall he eats really well.

He's been having a later bedtime because of the summer and me being home. He's been going to bed at 8ish and getting up after 7. He hasn't been going to daycare as much because we've been so busy.

We realized on our vacation that he is really flexible. He did great on only 6 hrs of sleep when we got stuck in Detroit. He handled the time change well. He didn't sleep as long at night while there but you couldn't tell he was on less sleep. He had naps all over the place and sometimes had 2 little naps. Through all this he did great. And when we got home he went right back into his normal schedule right away.
