Packing

Wow....this is a lot of work. Packing for myself, a toddler, and an infant is so much different than when we went to NY just the two of us. We started the task on Sunday morning and we leave on Wednesday. By the time we leave we will have spent 3 days packing. This includes laundry, trips to Target and Walmart for last minute needed items, lists and more lists, more laundry and the actual packing. We have staging areas set up. The dining room table is one of them. It is being filled with the kitchen items we'll need and the items we'll be organizing into the diaper bag and Colin's carry on. Audrey's clothes were in a pile in her room, it took a couple days to pack hers because she was still wearing a lot of it. Colin's was in a pile in his room, and then there is the suitcase in our room.

The task is made more difficult by the $25 per bag checking fee. We will be able to save $50 if we can only have one checked bag. I think we'll be able to do this. The key is remembering that we'll be able to do as much laundry as we want while we were there. We don't each need to have whole outfits for each day. This is a hard concept for me to grasp. I always want to bring so much. I am doing much better though. Except for Audrey. Her clothes are so cute I want to bring everything. It has been hard to cut back. I have the fact that she is a newborn who spits up and poops her pants and sometimes needs multiple outfits in one day working in my favor though. And the fact that her clothes are so small. I was able to pack more outfits and Paul doesn't even realize because they still barely take up any room.

Our luggage includes; one large checked suitcase, one small carry on suitcase, one backpack for Paul to carry on, and the diaper bag. We will also have the double stroller, and the carseeat which will both be gate checked. I think we are going to be able to fit everything. We have learned to pack more efficient for sure.

We are just about done with the first major task of the trip.

The next one.....getting to the airport, checked in, through security, and making our flight on time.

Wish us luck.
