Colin is 2 years old!

Two years ago

Last year

This year

Colin has been talking so much more lately. He has pretty much become an echo of everything that we say. We definitely have to start being more careful about what comes out of our mouths. One of my favorite things that he says is "where are you" he'll say "daddy, R you?" and it is so cute. He's starting to put words together more and uses sentences all the time.

He is really loving on his little sister now. He finally started saying Audrey. He says "Auddy", it's cute to hear. He loves to play with her and give her hugs and kisses good night. The other day I had put her down for a nap and then was in the bathroom getting ready. Colin comes running in saying "baby crying". It was so cute.

He still really loves his cars and trucks. He takes them all over the house lining them up and driving them around. He likes to walk more when we go for walks. He will ride some of it in his blue car and then walk some of it on his own. He likes his trains, loves reading books, and doing puzzles.

He loves having the blanket on him while he is sleeping. If he rolls over before falling asleep and it comes off he'll yell out to us "blankie on" and want us to come help him get the blanket on him.

He is going to daycare Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs each week. He enjoys it but really hates being dropped off. He gets pretty upset sometimes(Mondays) when Paul drops him off in the morning but then by the end of the week he is doing much better.

He really likes to help out. He helps unload/load the dishwasher and always puts his dirty dishes in the sink. He helps me carry the bags in from the car after daycare.

He loves to eat, actually, he loves to snack. He always wants to be snacking on something. We're working on having more routine snacks vs all day snacks. His snacks are healthy choices at least.

He always has an "owie". It will be "owie tummy" or "owie back" or anything. His owies are if his shirt is scrunched up behind him or the dog's tail hit him as they walked by. Luckily his owies are usually cured with a kiss.

He is definitely in his tantrum stage. He is whiney and definitely throws little fits. He gets really upset if you correct him. If he throws something or hits and you tell him "no" he'll start crying.

He is potty trained but not 100% perfect. He has some accidents. He is dry most mornings but once in awhile is wet. He has been having some poop accidents that we're working on getting better at that. He seems to have problems mostly when he is playing and doesn't want to stop to go to the bathroom.

He is really smart and seems to be remembering things so much more. I talked to him about Mimi coming for his birthday. Two weeks later I said "guess who is coming for your birthday!?" and he said "Mimi!" I showed him a train table online that I was thinking would be a good idea for his birthday. Then for the two weeks before his birthday anytime we would mention his birthday he would say "Mimi coming, big choo choo!" He knows his colors really well, the basics and others like brown, orange, purple, black, white. He can almost count to ten. He needs help on a couple of numbers. He knows some of the alphabet and will chime in with about half the letters when you say it. He knows his shapes; circle, square, rectangle, triangle.

He is starting to sing songs some. He will sing part of the Elmo's World song. We were listening to music the other day and he started singing Usher's "OMG". It was cute but probably not the best song for a 2 year old to be singing.
